Listen for my music on the E! News Red Carpet today before the Oscars! It will be played as they break for commercial…
Did you watch the Oscars? What did you think of the hosting? How high was James Franco?! Seriously…he wasn’t even on stage much and when he was I thought he was either going to start laughing or be eating Doritos with a bad case of “the munchies.” Anne Hathaway seemed to handle him well since he was Captain Awkward the whole time.
Were you happy with the winners? I was stoked for The King’s Speech since i thought it was one of the best movies i’ve seen in a long time. I just saw Winter’s Bone as well and was really pulling for Jennifer Lawrence to win but alas…the Swan won. Natalie Portman did do a great job in Black Swan. I think i should have been cast in that since I’m such an amazing ballet dancer and am also bi-polar. Would have been awesome. I guess I don’t look good in spandex which is totally subjective if you ask me.

SHOW AT BARRE:
Thanks to everyone for making it out to my show last week at Show at Barre. It was a packed house and the crowd was awesome. I was really thrilled that I could just relax and play whatever songs i wanted to without worrying about what time it was. That seems like a no-brainer but in the world of “gigging” having an open-ended set is priceless.
I remember days in NYC when I was just getting started when you had to load your own stuff in to the venue, wait for the previous band to finish, haul shit on stage, set it up, do a sound check on the fly and be done playing within 45 minutes. Theeeeen you had to break down your instruments and stage and race off so the next act could take the stage. I wouldn’t even remember playing the show cause i was so worried about getting the hell off stage in time. Ugh.
Soooo now i appreciate the complete luxury that is a night where i have the whole stage to myself. I’m selfish like that.
I played a bunch of the songs you’ve heard me speaking of and did a lot of my vocal looping as well. Here’s a video of me singing my song “Pieces” — i love this song. If you don’t know anything about it it’s about being up and down and falling apart and knowing no matter how hard things get you’ll put the pieces together when you feel like it. Sometimes it’s good to remind ourselves that everything can’t get done in one day…it takes time and it’s ok to give yourself a break from time to time. I’m not very good at that but at least I blog about it, right?

It’s been a while since our last MANNchat…and, as you remember, I failed epically at getting the video to work. BUT (fingers crossed) i’ve worked out the kinks…so let’s hang on Wednesday! Post requests on my facebook wall and i’ll do my best to accomodate.

I’ll be listening for it! Congrats, Chris!
